Lifting Lessons for a Lemon Tree

A friend of mine planted a lemon tree in her backyard a few years ago. For the first two years, it looked like nothing was happening. Tiny leaves. No fruit. She nearly dug it up more than once.

Then in year three, it suddenly took off. Big branches, full leaves, and more lemons than she knew what to do with.

It wasn’t magic. It just needed time. And care.

That’s how training works, too.

But people get so caught up in debating exercises, arguing over programs, and chasing the “perfect” split that they forget the basics.

Most people aren’t even training hard enough for those things to matter.

Over the past 12 months, I’ve been training at a commercial gym instead of my private one for a change of environment…

… and what I keep seeing, over and over, is that most people have way more in the tank than they think. They’re showing up, but they’re not really pushing.

Here’s what matters more than anything:

  1. How hard you train
  2. How long you stick with it

You don’t need the best routine. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need effort, and time.

That’s what actually gets results.

By the way, here are 3 more ways I can help you improve your strength, physique and gym confidence:
