If You Could Go Back

5, 10, 15 or 20+ years and tell yourself one thing what would that be?

For me, it would be to avoid listening to negative people and surround yourself with successful ones.

Up until about 5-6 years ago I was a super negative person, and funny enough it got me nowhere.

But it wasn’t my fault – and if you’re in the same situation as me it’s not yours either.

Let me explain…

I remember when I bought my first ‘dream car’ and I couldn’t wait to show my mate…

Instead praising it he immediately pointed out a dent in the bumper.

Another time when I told a family member that I’m finally moving my PT business out of my parents garage and into a facility…

They didn’t congratulate me, but instead pointed out that I now had to clean 2 toilets.

If you take a look around and listen to people – even if you don’t know them – you’ll find that there is more self-doubting and negative talk than positive.

Watch and listen to the media, you’ll notice that’s all negative too.

You’ll probably even notice some of your best friends and family dropping negative bombs left, right and centre without them even knowing it.

All this negativity influences your subconscious mind.

So when a time comes where you have to make a ‘ballsy’ decision you back down.

And that’s exactly what I used to do 5-6 years ago.

I would see everything as ‘glass half empty’ and turn down awesome opportunities.

I realised if you want to succeed at anything in life you got to get your head thinking differently to 99% of the population…

And it all starts with self-positive talk.

How do you do that?

Every night and morning for 5 minutes practice visualizing whatever it is you want to achieve.

If it’s getting a hot athletic body.visualize yourself in your dream bikini.

If it’s getting a double body weight deadlift visualize yourself loading up the bar and completing the lift.

If it’s conquering a fear visualize yourself doing that particular fear.

I actually go one step further and write in a graditute journal each night.

This will help reprogram your subconscious mind from negative to positive.

Yes it sounds corny and woo-woo.

But it works.

Take care, comb your hair – talk soon,

Grant

P.S. I don’t really like Superman anymore (my mum dressed me) I prefer Batman.
