7 Things I’d Do If I Were You (WHEN YOU’VE LOST THE PLOT)

Last month I really lost the plot.

I went through one of these phases where I had zero motivation.

I felt completely confused about what to do when it came to my nutrition and training.

It’s funny how sometimes, even when we have the program, knowledge, and nothing to stop us…

We still manage to hit plateaus, speed bumps and motivation slumps.

Even though I do this stuff for a living.

And in about 15 minutes I can write a clear, cut program that would produce outstanding fat loss and fitness results for my online girls…

I was still lost and frustrated when it came to my own goals.

Each night I’d go to bed thinking “ok I gotta do this, this and this”.

But come morning I lose that fire in the belly that built up overnight.

If you too are currently experiencing that plateau, slump, speed bump… whatever you call it, then this is for you.

Here’s 7 things I’d do if I were you…

1. Take Imperfect Action

There is no such thing as the perfect fat loss plan – everything works.

Yes even the one you’re currently on.

You just got to follow it.

Try not to pull the program apart and only do bits and pieces.

Just do the whole thing. Even if it’s not ‘perfect.

2. Eat 3 Solid Meals A Day

When your diet is all over the shop, I’ve found getting back to having 3 solid meals a day fixes a lot of things.

Got sugar cravings? Eat 3 solid meals a day.

Got carb cravings? Eat 3 solid meals a day.

Got junk food cravings? Eat 3 solid meals a day.

Got snacking issues? Eat 3 solid meals a day.

Each meal contains a protein, plant, fat and carbohydrate source.

You can worry about the fancy stuff later once you’re in the groove.

3. Do Something Physical For 30 Minutes Every Day

It doesn’t matter what the activity is.

It could be hard, medium or easy.

Just something that gets you moving for 30 minutes.

Again, you can worry about the fancy stuff later once you’re in the groove.

4. Get Some Sun

Aim to get a minimum 20 minutes of sun each day.

Sun is very underrated when it comes to mood and energy levels.

When you’re outside in the sun you think so much clearer and all that confusing shit you lose sleep over seems to figure itself out.

5. Drink More Water

Yes, I know you already drink heaps of water.

At least you think you do.

I can assure you that you probably don’t.

6. Get a 30,000 Foot Opinion

– Find someone with experience that you’re not friends with.

– Tell them your issues and problems.

– Take their advice.

When you have someone else sit back and look at your problems – from a 30,000 foot view – they can usually can spot the issue like a sore thumb almost instantly.

Most girls can’t see the forest through the trees.

7. Journal

Start a gratitude journal and write in it each night.

The journal helps you think positively.

Sometimes after a bad day you go to bed with a negative mindset which then spills over to the next day.

By answering these questions you flip the positive mindset switch back on…

– What am I grateful for today?
– What opportunity did I have today?
– What and who do I appreciate?
– Biggest achievement for the day?

I know this list seem very simple and obvious.

But sometimes the simple and obvious things need to be revisited from time to time.

These were the small things that got me on track with my training and nutrition.

I hope these tips will help you too.
