You gotta build muscle!

I think we can all agree on that. Well, at least my online client can agree on this (she’s in the picture ^^)

However when most girls try to build muscle they start off on the wrong foot.

When you look into the training programs of most girls who seek an athletic body you will see a very common theme.

They perform splits…

Monday – Chest

Tuesday – Back

Wednesday – Legs

Thursday – Shoulders

Friday – Arms

Saturday – Abs

You’ve seen these before yeah?

Maybe you’re doing one now?

Basically they train one muscle group per week.

I truly believe that many females who perform this kind of split aren’t taking advantage of something that you have over males.

That being…

Faster recovery levels.

(Damn you by the way)

I’ve always found my online girls recover faster than my guys.

And this is due to having less muscle mass (compared to guys).

Generally speaking – the more muscle you have – the longer it takes to recover.

So if you have faster recovery levels it simply makes sense to train more often.

Think about this…

If you perform a split and only train one muscle group per week.

At the end of the year you will have trained that one muscle 52 times.

Alternative if you perform 3 full body workouts per week for an entire year you will have trained that muscle 156 times.

52 or 156?

Big difference isn’t there?

Also, I prefer full body workouts instead of splits for girls who lift because you have more room to play with during the week.

Let’s say you miss a workout.

We are human.

Sometimes shit happens.

If for whatever reason you miss a workout at least you still trained your entire body twice for that week.

OR it gives you an opportunity to make it up another day during the week because you technically have 4 other ‘free days’ to choose from.

On a split you’ll either skip that entire body part for another 7 days or you’ll add it onto another session which will probably take you 2 hours to complete.

Full body workouts simply give you more ‘wiggle room’.

I do use splits sometimes with my online girls because they do have their place.

But only as far as an upper and lower split and for those that have been training with me for over 12 months with a decent amount of strength.

At the end of the day I always find full body workouts always deliver far better results.
